Michael Curran, A.M.P.
Michael has been operating an Ayurvedic practice in Ventura since 2006, when he completed two years of post-graduate training in Ayurvedic medicine.
His academic training in Western Psychology prepared him for the understanding that electrical and chemical interactions in the brain lead to physical manifestations of pain and illness - concepts that blended seamlessly with traditional Ayurvedic nutritional, herbal, and meditation practice.
His first exposure to clinical Ayurveda started with digestive illness while in India. The cure was quick, simple, astoundingly effective, and came out of the grocery aisle. He saw the potential in Ayurveda to fill the gap in American healthcare for reversing early-stage disease process, for which powerful chemical-based interventions are not appropriate.
To become a designated Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner, Michael completed a rigorous 600 hours of theory and practice, and over 50 hours of clinical internship.
Michael was certified as a Restorative Exercise Specialist in 2008, and moved NEW SPA into the Restorative Exercise Institute (RExI) facility in 2009. At RExI, he gives regular lectures on Ayurveda, as well as at other locations around Southern California. He has a special ability to translate the concepts of Ayurveda into the language of Western science.
